the situation in Cavite

An industrialized province

Cavite is a province located south of Manila Bay, on the island of Luzon. It is one of the most industrialized and fastest-growing provinces in the Philippines, with a population of 3.6 million inhabitants.

The arrival of foreign direct investments, the emergence of export processing zones, and industrial parks on the outskirts of the megalopolis have led to rapid urbanization and economic growth in the provinces around Metro Manila, such as Cavite.

An emergency situation to coordinate

In 2009, the entire pilot project for access to water by Better with Water in northern Manila burned down in 3 hours. Overnight, 10,000 people already living in precarious conditions found themselves homeless. From a development project, Eau et Vie had to coordinate an emergency situation. Better with Water was then able to resume its activities in the relocation area for fire victims in Salcedo II.

Today, Better with water is active in Salcedo II, Manggahan, Talaba II and its extension, Pugad Ibon, Upper Sucat and its extension, Molave, BARS, Tabing Dagat, Isla Noah and Strikeville.
