Water and Social Program Manager – based in Bangladesh
Based at the Head Office in Bangladesh and reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Water and Social Program
Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the organization’s core
intervention program. This includes the delivery of social water service and the implementation of associated social
development activities that support vulnerable communities.
The main responsibilities are the following:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of all program activities, including:
– Water network construction and expansion
– Operation and maintenance of water services
– Water billing and service management
– Civil protection and basic hygiene training sessions
– Community mobilization activities
- Monitor program performance and ensure activities are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in line with organizational objectives.
- Identify opportunities to expand and strengthen the program to reach a greater number of people in need.
- Ensure the efficient management of program resources, systems, and processes, keeping in mind its long-tesustainability.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of organizational tools, policies, and procedures.
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of approximately 30 employees, including the direct supervision of 4 staff members.
- Support fundraising, project development, and partnership initiatives as required.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with local partners, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders.
- As a permanent member of the Executive Committee, contribute in the Strategic Development of better with water in Bangladesh
When?
POSITION TO BE FILLED December 1st 2026
Several weeks of orientation will be organized at the HQ (if possible) and in Bangladesh.
Education & Professional Background
Holder of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or Master’s degree in Economics, Development Studies,Public Policy, Management, Business Administration or any other related discipline, you have a proven experience of at least six years in the Development Sector.
A 3-year-long experience as overall program manager (including HR and Financial components) is
mandatory. A sound experience abroad in multicultural context is also required.
First experience in urban WASH projects is more than welcome.
First contact with Bangladesh context and/or one of better with water’s fields of interventions are strong assets.
As a team leader, you excel in programming and developing the running activities of a water-related social program.
As a team member, you demonstrate keen interest in working with all the stakeholders internally as externally.
Patience, leadership and sense of pedagogy will be helpful in a context of development.
Language skills
Fully proficiency in English is compulsory. Knowledge of French would be a very strong asset.
Conditions
Mission based in HO in Dhaka – Bangladesh, with regular field visits in our intervention areas in Dhaka and
Chattogram.
