Logistics specialist (H/F)

About
In the context of establishing a new position, better with water is actively seeking a logistics specialist.
As part of the Head Office in the Philippines and under the supervision of the Country Director, the Logistics specialist will provide operational support by developing, implementing, and monitoring the procurement and supply chain processes, as well as managing IT and security operations. The main responsibilities are the following:
- Develop and execute strategic procurement plans that are in alignment with the objectives of both our NGO and Social Enterprise, while meeting the requirements of international donors and national standards.
- Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with important suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and conditions, encompassing aspects such as pricing, quality, and timely delivery.
- Implement and monitor the stock management policy to ensure efficient inventory control.
- Take charge of IT and Facilities management, serving as the primary liaison for interactions with headquarters on these topics.
- Ensure the safe and efficient transportation of personnel and goods by enhancing existing transportation policies, as well as Safety and Security management, in close collaboration with HR Manager.
- Facilitate team capacity building across relevant areas.
- Contribute to the optimization and development of organizational tools and procedures.

Education and professional background
Holder of a Master’s degree in Logistics or Project Management or Development program management, you have a proven experience of at least four years spent as Logistician or in a position including one of the following topics: supply chain, procurement, stock management, security management.
A 2-year-long experience on international development program is compulsory, including coordination and training in intercultural contexts. A first experience with international donors (like AFD) is mandatory.
First contact with the Philippines‘ context and/or one of better with water’s fields of interventions are more than welcome.
As a proficient conductor, you excel in designing and adapting processes to support operations, taking into consideration the constraints of the slum contexts and the existing challenges.
Working autonomously, you demonstrate proactivity and a keen interest in capacity building for teams.
Patience, leadership and sense of pedagogy will be helpful in a context of structuration and development of a new function in better with water.
Language skills
Fully proficiency in English is compulsory. Knowledge of French would be a very strong asset.
Conditions
Mission based in Head Office in Mandaue City, Cebu Island – The Philippines, with regular field visits in our intervention areas in Cavite, Cebu City and Leyte.
Full time position – 40hrs/week
Status: VSI – Volontariat de Solidarité Internationale as defined by French Ministry of Europe and foreign affairs (regulated by the February, 23rd 2005 law)
