a water operatorinvested in sustainability

better with water acts as a local water operator providing integrated services to residents of precarious neighbourhoods, including drinking water through domestic connections, community empowerment, hygiene awareness and firefighting.

The involvement of stakeholders is an important step to ensure that the development of operations takes into account local needs, experiences, and interests.

Our vision

Cities where people in deprived neighbourhoods can enjoy decent living conditions.

Our conviction

Slum dwellers also deserve and can afford sustainable water supply in their homes.

action levers

A true virtuous cycle—from access to safe drinking water to waste management
—each initiative shapes an optimal future for water and community well-being.

the socio-economic modela dual virtuous approach

To address complex challenges, better with water is the first NGO to have developed a unique and financially sustainable hybrid model that provides running drinking water at home while effectively managing the complexities of disadvantaged urban communities.

In each country, the implementation structure consists of:
– A local NGO to implement good practices through training (hygiene, fire…) and
community empowerment. Thanks to the installation of a reliable water service, the
aim is to continue to improve the people’s living conditions.
– A company to develop local services along with their commercial valuation, through
individual water billing and other related services. The objective is the autonomy of
economically viable service companies.

These entities work hand in hand, and their combined action enables residents to have continuous, long-term access to water and to use it to significantly improve their living conditions and the resilience of the community.
